Dr. Somers is a general pediatrician with UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics-GIL. Under his leadership, his Pittsburgh office site was recognized as the first green pediatric office in Western Pennsylvania in 2007 and is currently designated as a Pitt Green Office. He serves on the advisory committee for the Phipp’s Let’s Move Pittsburgh program and is a member of the Committee on Climate and Environmental Health at the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is chair of the office greening committee of the C4CA.
